Rotor unbalance – a common cause of machine failure
Rotor unbalance is the second most common cause of machine damage after bearing wear. It can be caused by mechanical defects, operating loads, or thermal changes.
While worn bearings can only be replaced, rotor unbalance can often be corrected without dismantling the equipment – by on-site balancing, a method for correcting vibrations in rotating machinery.
